WHERE ARE THE WOMEN OF YEMEN?

A question that has been repeated for more than four decades. The position of the first lady is not equal to the rest of the world. Actually, we do not know who the first lady is or how many women the president has married.

Yemen, with its current name, did not witness a woman minister in power except in the last decade, even in the war, they do not exist among the parties to the conflict!

I remembered the words of an aid worker who was providing aid to the victims of the torrents that struck the Hadramawt governorate.

Who was baffled while watching only men in the ranks of receiving aid, returned to his country, believing that the torrents had taken away all women in Yemen.

The world now looks at us in the same way, I think.

For a whole year, the parties of the Yemeni government spent in the luxurious resort of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, in a phase of tug of war regarding the sharing of government positions, but as the saying goes, "The mountain gave birth to a mouse." A government made up of parties and tribal sects, only men without women.

Where are the women of Yemen? The answer is simple.

The war did not destroy them as it is believed, but rather they were its first victims, as they were photographed carrying hungry children or looking for firewood to make a meal that did not get fat or sing from hunger or weep over a collapsed house due to the war.

Ignoring women was not the result of today and the moment, but rather religious accumulations and outdated ideas that spanned through years, but decades, in the north and south, but not limited to the government that ruled southern Yemen and which claimed socialism did not place a woman at the top of the power, but rather men only occupied her until the war of January 86.

as the pillars of the state collapsed and comrades were scattered, leaving thousands of bereaved mothers and widowed women, and here is history repeating itself today again.

The funny thing is that the immortalization of the name of Yemen in history in a good and positive way or even across religions did not happen except during the period of rule of women, not men, which is represented in the verse {she said O, O public, advise me about my issue, I was not interrupting an order until you would witness} [Ants:].

Queen Bilqis, whose sentence has become symbolic of wisdom and consultation, was singled out, but unfortunately the same teachings insisted on marginalizing the woman and turning it into a shameless act. Prayer is nullified if it passes in front of men, Because of the passage of a woman or a black dog, the marginalization of women is not the result of the moment, but rather an integral penalty from a deep legacy that transformed it into a tool for producing children or preparing food

with laws.

Women are not considered valuable except in the laws of child and underage marriage that consider child marriage at the age of eight if it appears It has the physical signs that qualify a man to marry and satisfy his sexual instincts is the standard of a woman who is fit to assume responsibility only. Otherwise, she is considered deficient in reason and religion in testifying, judging, and running for parliament. The marginalization of women in Yemen is not only by power but also in the home that begins with considering her name the shame of knowing the name of the mother In Yemen, it is considered a means of insulting a young man or a man who is calibrated in the name of his mother or sister in the event that it spreads and does not keep it a secret, even in death, the grave of the mother of so-and-so is written. How can a Yemeni woman take her rights?

Here, I would like to apologize for being a man and try to talk about the participation of women, but this is the reality that prompted me to write this article.

The Oppressing of Yemeni women so I say, take your rights, do not demand them.

What Yemeni women need today is to submit an objection petition to this government that takes from the people who represent half of the society if most of it is not an excuse for its legitimacy and puts pressure on the appointment of women in the government as a right, not a demand, but more than this by replacing the opposing leaderships in the seats of the parties and replacing them with women, only then can we eliminate corruption and favoritism and find real solutions to stop the bloodshed in Yemen, so you can believe my words. Look for the means that women used to persevere during this difficult period in Yemen’s history to prove the truth of what I say... Only women have the solutions. Women today must present a formal objection by going out in demonstrations in areas where the legitimate government extends its influence, or even through letters that migrant and refugee women receive to Yemeni diplomatic missions and representations abroad because rights are taken away and not given as well as presenting direct letters to the United Nations and organizations. Concerning and defending women's rights I will not dwell on my article. . . However, I would like to cite the fact that Yemen has not been ruled with justice except in the rule of women, such as Queen Belqis and Arwa bint Ahmed Al-Sulaihi.. Do not ask me about war, all I know is that it is men who started it and that only women are able to bring peace.
