Bäume sind wie Brokkoliköpfe
Blutarm stehen sie auf dem Schoß der Hügel
heiße Winde keuchen
während Staubteufel
am Horizont kräuselt
die Vögel haben vergessen zu singen
ihre Stimmen sind gefangen
in ihren Kehlen
im Vorgebirge
der See ist eine aufgerollte Schlange
ein Zopf auf der Kopfhaut
einer felsigen Weite
sein schrumpfendes Wasser
spiegelt eine Taubenfamilie
In einem kalkigen Dachboden
Schlafend trockene Luft hat das Mondlicht entführt
der Himmel verblasst zu grauen Laken

HILL COUNTRY DRAUGHT
trees are dedicated broccoli heads
anemic on the bosom of hills
hot winds wheeze
while dust devils
ruffle on horizon
birds have forgotten to sing
their voices
caught in their throats
in the foothills
the lake is a coiled snake
a braid on the scalp
of a rocky expanse
its shrinking water
mirrors a family of doves
sleeping in chalky loft
dry air has kidnapped moonlight
sky fades into grey sheets
